Romans 13:11, Luke 18: 1, 1 Thess. 5:17
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.( Romans 13:11)
Prayer is a matter of urgency in the life of every believer.
Prayer is key for a successful spiritual journey in life.
The place we read in Romans 13: 11
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.(Explain)
The bible says in Mathew 13:25
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
In this service today I like to established two facts about prayer
- Prayer is the spiritual responsibility of every child of God
To everyone here, prayer is your responsibility.
The bible says in 1 Thes. 5: 17
17 Pray without ceasing.
Prayer give you the spiritual ability to survive in troubling times
Jesus speaking in Luke 18: 1 says: And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
If you don’t pray you become a prey to the enemy
- It is through prayer we take the spiritual Responsibility of our destiny.
How serious you are with prayer determines how serious you are with your destiny.
In Luke 6:12
12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
Here me the plan of God for your life is great but you must pray that plan to pass
The problem is not with God, He already has a plan in place for you the problem is you are not taking responsibility to pray that plan to pass.
In Jeremiah 29: 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
For this plan to come to pass you have a responsibility
1. You must have an expectation
2. You must pray your expectations to pass
Jeremiah 29:11
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Here me great destinies are born in the place of prayer, You may not be born great, but you can pray your way into greatness.
In 1 Chronicles 4: 9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Jabez requested for a change of destiny and God granted Him his request
He became great
Here me, it doesn’t matter how you came into this year 2026, maybe you came into the year small, you can pray your way into increases like
- Jesus pray for the destiny of Peter
Luke 22: 32
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
